About Me

I am working to advance trustworthy language intelligence by asking the following three questions:

  • Tough Testing: Can we identify the misbehaviors of an NLP system through automatic stress tests?

  • Thorough Analysis: Can we interrogate the identified misbehaviors of an NLP system for insights to improve it?

  • Trustworthy Deployment: Can we inoculate an NLP system based on discovered insights before its deployment?

My current project is to achieve the three goals above for online content moderation.

I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Xueqing (Susan) Liu. Before coming to Stevens, I received my master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UCLA in 2019. I was working with Prof. Quanquan Gu and Prof. Vwani P. Roychowdhury on the theoretical and application aspect of algorithmic fairness in machine learning systems (my master thesis). I received my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, China in 2017.
